SCORM Packages

Exporting

TIS Training now supports exporting our courses as SCORM packages for use in your own LMS. These packages are not self contained and require the user to be able to connect to the TIS Training servers. Each use of a SCORM course will consume either credits, or a user seat, as per your current TIS Training plan. All SCORM courses are currently available in either SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 4th Edition format. Please ensure your LMS supports your chosen version as some systems may permit uploading the course but will not function correctly during attempts.

Please note the following when using SCORM courses:

  • Users will not be issued a certificate on completion, as completion tracking is considered the responsibility of your LMS.

  • Attempts via SCORM are considered separate from each other, and a user that has started one course is able to begin another if you have setup your LMS in this way.

  • For individual courses, users are not given the option to retry from within the TIS Platform course. Further attempts should be managed by your LMS.

  • For induction courses, a user that fails a course section will be required to retry until passing the section before they can continue. The final score passed back to your LMS by the TIS Platform will be the average of all passing results, and will not include failed section attempts. Users will always have a "passed" success status after completing induction courses.

  • An exit button is available with the course to allow users to suspend their attempt. Please ensure your LMS settings support suspending and resuming attempts.

  • Only the final score an a pass or fail mark are returned to the LMS. For detailed reporting you can still use the TIS Platform reporting pages.

  • The SCORM 1.2 format does not have separate markers for the "passed"/"failed" status and the "complete" status. You may need to change your LMS settings to mark results with a "passed"/"failed" status as complete.

Importing

The TIS Platform does not support the importing of SCORM courses at this time.
